Ornament Crafts ? Some Easy to Do Ideas | amillionlives.net

Holiday ornaments don?t necessarily have to be bought and they certainly don?t need to cost a lot of money. Several materials in the craft store or at home can be turned into lovely ornament crafts for thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Easter and other celebrations.

Craft stores offer clear glass ornaments with metal tops for hanging that are ready for decoration. These ornament crafts may be placed inside glass balls for additional protection. Paper shreds can be placed to fill the inside of the Christmas balls, or the outer layer can be painted or covered in glitter. Aside from Christmas balls, beaded glass can also be turned into sparkling ornament crafts. A clear vase can be filled with oval glass beads, preferably green and red ones to blend with holiday colors. There are glass molds of the Star of David as well as miniature glass menorahs that can serve as decorations during Hanukkah. Pilgrims and Native Americans made of glass can also make great embellishments for Thanksgiving. Some of these can be bought in do-it-yourself stores and custom-colored at home.

Christmas Ornament Crafts - From Used Materials

Used Christmas cards are good materials for Christmas ornament crafts. To make Christmas balls out of them, they are cut into circles the size of a large coin and folded in three sides to form a triangular center. About twenty pieces of these are glued together to form a modified ball. Unwanted compact discs may be converted into photo ornaments featuring members of the family. With the help of google eyes and some other art materials, small light bulbs that are already worn out can be turned into Christmas ornament crafts depicting reindeer and other holiday characters. Some people simply cut cereal boxes and design them as candy canes before hanging them in the tree.

Christmas Ornament Ideas - From Edible Objects

A Christmas tree can look delicious especially to children if the hangings are made of food. Foil-covered chocolate coins may be wrapped in small nets before they are hanged in the tree. Peppermints can be glued together by their wrappers to become garlands to loop around the tree. Other yummy Christmas ornament ideas include holiday stockings filled with goodies and ornaments made of dough, only they can?t be eaten because they have to be preserved with varnish. To hang cinnamon sticks, the string should be glued with a dab of royal icing. Popcorn also makes good ornaments, but like dough, it won?t be edible for long once it becomes stale.
