Pro Football: Haden reportedly failed drug test - The Sports Desk

FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

Cleveland Browns starting cornerback Joe Haden, who lived in Spotsylvania County during his boyhood years, reportedly failed a drug test during the offseason and could face a four-game suspension, according to two reports.

Both ESPN Cleveland and the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Haden?s drug test showed the presence of Adderall, a prescription drug used to treat people suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Adderall is banned under NFL policy.

ESPN Cleveland reported Haden is aware of the failed first test; a second test of the original sample must be conducted before the NFL can instigate the standard four-game suspension. Haden does have the right to appeal the suspension.

Haden attended Battlefield Elementary and Ni River Middle in the 1990s and played football and basketball on Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation teams. He and his family moved to to Fort Washington, Md., in 2001.
