Police: Woman wrote 'boom' on suitcase

By WPBF.com

A Miami woman has been arrested in connection with the bomb scare that closed down one of the terminals at Miami International Airport this week, according to a report.

Danisa Landaeta, 30, drew a picture of a bomb and wrote the word "boom" on the luggage of her friend who was at the airport to fly to Venezuela, Local10.com in Miami reported.

Landaeta's associate gave her bag to officials at Santa Barbara Airlines on Tuesday afternoon, and when they noticed what they thought was a bomb scare, Terminal F was promptly evacuated and shut down for about an hour, Local10 reported.

Investigators said Landaeta confessed to the prank, and she was charged with planting a hoax bomb and criminal mischief, according to the Local10 report.

The fake bomb wasn't the only unusual headline coming out of Miami International this week. A man was arrested and accused of trying to sneak on to a flight to Brazil with seven exotic snakes and three tortoises hidden in his pants.
